Harlowe Robinson
My name is Harlowe Robinson. I am Canadian, and lived in Barcelona for ten years. I speak five languages. I am very excited to put forth my name as a nominee for the position of representative of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. I have the skills and knowledge to make a difference in the day to day life of students at FAH. In my last four years of high school, I acted as a class representative. The leadership skills that I developed and learned whilst representing my class will help me immeasurably in my quest to help students at UCL. When I get elected I would like to put together a wish list. Some ideas are as follows:
-Build a cohesive and harmonious environment between students, so that we have opportunity to grow in our endeavours together over the next academic year.
-Be a voice for the rights of students, especially during these precarious times in which we are currently living. It is important that the students feel they can express their feelings and speak about anything that might be of value.
-Start special in person social events as soon as possible, within the legal guidelines, such that students can at least have some form of socialisation and make new and lasting friendships!
-Make people not living in London feel like a part of UCL by adding them to group chats, hosting student zooms, and having virtual lunches and dinners with them!
-Work to make sure that there are more in-person classes for everyone and not just selected departments.
Thank you!
Amal Malik
