Hello! I’m Glory, a 2nd-year Architecture student running for the Bartlett Faculty Representative for undergraduates.

Being completely honest, this position puts me out of my comfort zone, but this is why I am here, because it will push me to work harder and learn from our community.


During first-year, I learnt it is important for students to understand they can address issues they care about, and I want to be part of that to make change in our faculty.

Through experiences such as leading group projects and transition mentoring, I am more confident in my abilities and being more honest in my approach.

The issues I am passionate for are:


• Student welfare

To raise awareness on mental and physical health of students from unhealthy work culture, and to build a more caring environment.

• Sustainability

Inspection of academic, operational systems within the Bartlett and address issues of climate change to build a more environmentally-aware work culture.

• Diversity

To represent those of a cultural minority and speak up for their issues, building a safer and more diverse workplace.


There are more issues such as agency, bursaries, technological/skills literacy, student architecture dialogue, which I also hope to address.

Hi, I am Angela Han, an urban planning, design and management student. I am writing this as I would like to apply for the role of Bartlett faculty representative for undergraduates.

Nothing is impossible, although I am a first year student. I believe I have the courage and ability to help you better in every way. This year has been a difficult year, but don’t worry, I will with you, contact me at any time, be happy to oblige. Having a wealth of experience as a Head of the Boarding house, a school prefect and the captain of my House, I believe I can do it well.

As a first year student, I have more time and more opportunities to discover the problems from the source.I believe it is important to try new things and get the most out of my time in school and can manage my own time and be responsible and independent.
I can organize things in order and bring some creative ideas to the table. I can also make everyone have a good time in UCL and feel part of a big family so that no one is left out.

Lolly Griffiths
Hi, my name is Lolly and I’m a second year Architecture student. Since arriving at The Bartlett I have been involved in pushing for change and would like to continue to do so by representing my peers through being Faculty rep.

The Bartlett is currently grossly underfunded only receiving 33% of the funding The Engineering faculty get and a meer 6% of the funds allocated to Medicine at UCL. To enable effective changes to take place within the faculty our funding needs to be revaluated. The underfunding of The Bartlett perpetuates many of the problems that we face and would be the main thing I would be soliciting for as UCL’s Built environment rep.

Extra funding would mean we can appropriately face issues such as:
- Supporting students who face financial pressures
- Creating more scholarships for incoming cohorts as well as providing appropriate pastoral support alongside these
- Putting in place measures to help tackle the attainment gap among students
- Having a support structure in place for students from different demographics where they can feel comfortable raising concerns and opinions

In addition to these things I think it is important we continue to work towards a more supportive community where our differences are valued and collaboration among disciplines is encouraged.

It doesn’t matter which course you are studying, in the Bartlett, we are all aiming to make the world a better place. Hi there! It's Sara and Malena. Being first-year EAD undergraduates in a course that overlaps three disciplines, we’ve seen many of the effects that the pandemic has brought on us and our peers. We feel it has helped us to showcase our strengths to each other and bond tightly. This is why we are invested in the experiences of the other years; not only the issues that they have been facing but also the opportunities we can all get from it.

We want to provide equal support in the wellbeing of our community,
the working environment and the effective delivery of feedback.

We both have international backgrounds and experience adapting to new environments, as well as representing the student voice by taking the lead in the student council. We are running for a shared role because we believe it is time to prioritise improving the organisation and communication,
emphasising the importance of student support and wellbeing,
creating connections between societies,
and providing a stronger relationship between like-minded faculties, degrees and year’s communication to create a more inclusive and open community!
