Hello! I’m Javier, a postgraduate research student, and I would like to be your next Faculty Representative to ensure you have the support needed to maximise the opportunities of your research experience.

As the chair and co-founder of the LGBTQ+ STEM @UCL Network and former Lead Department Representative of a cohort of 440 students, I understand the need for strong and reliable leadership.

Postgraduate research can be challenging, especially in these times of uncertainty. As the Faculty Rep, I will make sure that your voice is heard, always valuing and responding to your feedback and implementing the changes that you want. I understand the challenges that we face, and I will make sure that FoBS students enjoy their best experiences.

My focus as the Representative for the Faculty of Brain Sciences includes:
- Offer a platform where FoBS students can be heard and give their opinions;
- Organise online and in-person social and formal events (involving societies and institutions);
- Oversee the creation of workshop skills and network career events that can offer development and teaching opportunities;
- Celebrate and champion diversity, highlighting the excellent work carried out by underrepresented and minority groups;
- Ensure access to excellent mental health support.
