Eman Saeed
I’m Eman and I want to be your Law Faculty Rep for the Autumn term! The start of the term is both stressful and exciting! This year, the balance between the two is off. I believe that we could be doing more to ensure our UCL Laws experience is at the standard it is every year, if not better! Particularly, I think there are ways in which this transition to online studies could be made more student-friendly. This may include improving the mode of communication between faculty and students - email easy to keep up with? While UNITU helps you get your concerns out, I hope to be the person who sees to the materialisation of our suggestions.

We want someone who is going to represent our Law Faculty in its best light. However, we also want an individual who is going to be realistic and implement practical changes where there are weaknesses in our academic and social experiences. More importantly, that individual must consider their peers’ voices every step of the way to ensure that whatever the Student Union does is reflecting what the Law students actually want and need. I want to be this person for you.
Aishwarya Shaji
I wish to represent you all as the Faculty Rep for Laws for 3 main reasons:

• This year has brought about several faculty-wide concerns regarding academics, mental health and welfare. Within one month, I have created a drive for law notes (as I did last year) to help students learn from each other and help each other. Additionally, after consistently taking student feedback, I have successfully represented the views of students regarding workload and live sessions. Consequently, faculty has promised to implement changes.

• I want to implement ideas at the faculty level to ensure that consistent and effective solutions are implemented across the board. For eg: I wish to bring a Life Coaching Initiative that was suspended due to COVID-19 which aimed to help law students navigate their university experience while giving guidance on how to look after your mental health.

• I have over one year’s worth of experience as the First-Year Representative and Second-Year Representative. That means a strong relationship with faculty and the law society, knowledge about accessible resources and feasible mechanisms to quickly implement feedback.

Please reach out for any queries. I promise to continue the work that I have done for our incredible community!
