The ongoing pandemic is a stressful time for us all and more so when compounded with the uncertainties created from Brexit. Therefore, I will strive to ensure that postgraduate research (PGR) students concerns are recognised as we gradually return to a semblance of normality. Where possible, I will seek realistic solutions that guarantee all PGR students can complete their studies on time. As a hand-on person, I aim to speak to as many PGR students as possible across the FLS departments to gain a real insight into the issues faced during these trying times. I aim to improve the communication between lead departmental reps and course/research student reps by creating the FLS student academic rep committee. In doing so, I aim to highlight shared problems within the faculty and move towards resolving these problems. I will make an effort to liaise with faculty reps across UCL to ensure we are optimising our ability to facilitate real change. I also aim to recruit more course reps by advocating the importance of their role. Together, these goals will help louden the voice of each PGR student and find solutions to common issues, no matter how large or seemingly insignificant, across the faculty.
