My experience organising promotional campaigns and partnerships in the capacity of a social media marketer with Cosmopolis Pte Ltd, a restaurant holding company based in Singapore, has taught me the importance of being proactive and open to collaboration. Over a 3-month period, I established 8 partnerships with Instagram micro-influencers to promote Nanbantei, a Japanese restaurant with 2 locations, on Instagram and Facebook, resulting in a 30.4% boost in revenue from Q2 2019 to Q2 2020 despite the challenges posed to restaurants by COVID-19 social distancing measures. I learned the importance of presenting partners with value propositions that would benefit both parties involved, and the importance of taking the initiative in engaging prospective collaborators.

I am a meticulous individual who sees initiatives through. As a Class Committee Chairman, I initiated a book drive for the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation of Myanmar in a cross-border initiative. After a disappointing initial interschool collection, I corresponded with the Singapore National Library Board to acquire over 5000 books for distribution across their mobile library network. The experience taught me the importance of resilience and considering alternate means to achieving one’s outcomes, skills I believe will serve me well as a Director.

As a penultimate year student in UCL who still hasn't completely figured out what career to pursue after graduation, I would like to fill in the role of Events and Partnership Director at 180D Consulting to introduce consulting to others and also gain a better understanding of it for myself! I intend to support the continuance of annual events that I have enjoyed immensely as well as introduce new ones aimed to target consulting novices and social impact enthusiasts.

I believe that my experience organising events for Indonesian Students' Association (PPI London) as the Head of Career Development Division will be especially useful as I was able successfully plan career webinars and even a consulting case study workshop with high turnout. From this, I realised that there was a demand for introductory events explaining consulting as an industry and the roles it has to offer, as well as a way to practice case studies without the pressures of a competition attached to it!

Most importantly, I'd love to be surrounded with like-minded social-impact-oriented people from a diverse background and bringing forward events that reflect this diversity in experience and perceptions towards consulting, so please do vote for me! :)
