Glenda Xu
Hello Everyone! My name is Glenda, and I will be a final year medical student in the next 2021/22 year. This past year as treasurer I am proud to have supported the expansion and further establishment of UCL BML Society, and I would love to be your next president during the upcoming term!

I’ve really enjoyed part of the UCL BML society thus far, and am incredibly inspired by how far the society has come since it began in 2019. With our monthly events which have addressed a variety of topics from mental health, to racial inequities in healthcare, to our hugely successful debate on Covid-19 UK Challenge Trials which over 100 guests attended, I continue to look forward to the exciting fields the UCL BML society have yet to explore!

Being a former events officer and treasurer, I am now much more familiar with the management, organisational, communication and creative skills roles needed to be president. If elected as president I will ensure to continue fulfilling BML’s mission to be a society for all students to be able to engage in critical thinking around bioethical, legal, and political issues around health and science. We will continue setting up exciting events discussing hot topics, and will increase the variety of opportunities for more students to connect with each other through their personal passions for the myriad of topics encompassed by bioethics and medical law.
