What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
My vision: diversity, access, equality and safety
My mission:
• Improve student wellbeing by reducing the waiting time for counselling and other mental health services. I want to urge UCL to invest more in our wellbeing centre so that students are able to get the help they need quicker.
• Increase prayer facilities on campus for Muslim students.
• Hold cultural and festive celebrations on campus to promote integration and inclusivity.
• Create study space facilities for students who have carer responsibilities and especially for single mothers.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I am from Afghanistan, where I experienced discrimination on a tremendous scale. I grew up in an unequal society where being a woman is the hardest challenge, and there is no right to live if you identify with LGBTQ+ communities. I fought for education in the Taliban regime by start going to secret classes. Therefore, I understand the importance of equality of opportunity for all. Currently, I am working as a Student Engagement Officer at UCL to organise events for students to communicate more comprehensively.
I have management, leadership, teamworking and negotiation skills.

Anything else?
In my previous experience working with numerous charitable organisations, I have had the chance to work on issues close to my heart such as mental health support, women empowerment and refugee services with the principle of equality being my core motivator.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
My priority is to ensure equal respect and support for all students regardless of race, especially under COVID-19 when unity is key. Here’s my plan:
1. Enforce HARSH punishments on offensive acts by negotiating with academic departments.
2. Promote EASIER access like Unitu for all students to anonymously report their unpleasant experience.
3. Host events that introduce key traditions in EVERY RACE, increasing understanding in the diverse student body.
4. Encourage students who wish to meet new friends of different race by creating FRIENDLY one-to-one sessions for them to exchange ideas.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I developed analytical skills when I led my team to produce efficient surveys on consumers’ tastes and collected 400 sets that helped increase revenue by 30% at Out of Africa, an organization aiming to improve living standards of African single mothers by introducing their products to Chinese online markets.

I trained my communication skills when I used my syllabus to teach underprivileged primary school students middle school physics, aiming to reduce educational inequality in megacities.

With valuable experiences in promoting equity, I wish to contribute to my new community UCL.

Anything else?
Thanks to past and current Students’ Union Leaders, we are already studying in a more liberal environment. However, we need to continue and do BEYOND. Discrimination remains to be a problem, especially under the pandemic when ethnic conflicts are worsening.

VOTE for the BEYOND!

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
I would joke that I want to spend another year drinking in some student bar, but all I want is for UCL to have a more visible BAME staff (both teaching and professional) on their senior leadership team.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Nolan's principles of public life and hardcore Rubix solving skills.

Anything else?
As the (Private) Equity Officer, my plan is simple: privatise all the UCL bars. 1,000,000 shares. IPO at £10.

List it on the LSE.
