Danilo Paganelli
Hey! My name is Danilo and I love French culture, and I am planning to learn the language in the future. I am very passionate of other cultures and languages and I would thoroughly promote this through my role in the committee. I am a very organised person –last year, I ran 5 societies, including a languages and cultures club, which I loved – and I would do my very best to ensure that the Francophone society is the very best it can be. I will make sure that everyone in the society feels comfortable and content and enjoys the club whilst also ensuring that feedback is heard and change is made if need be. I want to be an event planner in the future and I love throwing parties and events (or I used to until Covid ) and I have a range of ideas for both online and in person events, including a French meal competition, French karaoke and many more! I would also love to promote the society so that more members can join. In addition, I would also promote and educate about lesser-known languages in the Francophone world, such as Occitan, which I am currently learning, and also create fundraisers for those in need in the Francophone world, so that not only can we enjoy ourselves but also make the world a better place.
Jehan Shipkolye
Hi, my name is Jehan Shipkolye, I am a civil engineering student at UCL and I am running for the position of Welfare & Events officer. I've been a member of the Francophone society for two years now. I believe that as an officer I would be able to help promote the different cultures associated with Francophonie.
If I was elected I would aim to create welcoming, interesting, and fun events, whether they're online or hopefully in person.
These would include the now-classic virtual game nights (I shall narrate the loup-garou games with the passion of an ancient bard), the much-beloved cheese & wine tastings, movie screenings, and many more...
Additionally, as officer, one of my main focuses would be inclusiveness within the society. I believe that events should be accessible to non-french speakers, and to students regardless of if they're on campus or not next year.
Merci, for reading my manifesto.
