Samuel Bright
Hey all! I'm Sam, a 3rd-going-on-4th year geologist. I've been active in NatConSoc for nearly 2 years now, but like everyone else a whole year of that has been almost completely online - thankfully it's looking like the coming academic year will be different!

I'd love to be a part of the team that'll get to bring this society together in-person again, and social events are naturally a key part of this. That's why, if all goes well with our fight out of this pandemic, I'll guarantee at least one in-person social event of some sort per week - at the very least a trip to the pub, perhaps with a society-paid pint or two ;) Having weekly socials will be a great way to help get us settled back into in-person university life. In any case, hopefully these little events will be a good outlet for relaxed 'conversation on conservation' (sorry, couldn't resist).

However, despite being a geologist I also understand beer doesn't have to be involved in everything, so in better weather - or in anticipation of indoor social restrictions - outdoor picnics in the local parks should be a common feature. Overall I'd love to have this role set up as one that's pretty dynamic - I'll always be open to suggestions on locations/themes/whateveryouwant for social events from anybody with a membership.

Looking forward to meeting everybody in the summer and autumn - fingers crossed for a great year ahead.
