Hamna Malik
I believe that I have effective communication skills to work efficiently with other members of the committee. I can also assist the president and vice president in matters of management. I am confident I can undertake administrative duties so that the society functions effectively and ensure that I am approachable so members can comfortably contact me with any feedback and queries. It is important that everyone feels welcome and a sense of belongingness. I aim to listen to the needs of all members and create a comfortable environment for them. I have consistently attended Pakistan society events this year and I will be a committed member of the Pakistan society. I also attended Urdu language classes, so I know how they operate and willing to help with them. I am a team player and I realise that regardless of the position, it is crucial to share responsibilities for the society to run successfully. I look forward to arranging exciting and fun events for everyone in the coming year.
Anushae Khan
I would like to run for the position of general secretary as I want to take a proactive role in decision making and enhancing the experience for members at PakSoc. I can ensure that I will provide my continuous support to the committee and society members in order to raise awareness about our beloved country and culture. I will make sure to implement ideas and events which increase inclusivity and bring people from all backgrounds together in a safe and friendly environment. Working as part of a team comes naturally to me and I have also taken on many leadership roles throughout my life, which have taught me how to successfully network concerns and objectives for the betterment of a community. As a general secretory I look forward to working around all the different aspects within the society, providing support to anyone and everyone in order to make our society prosper towards achieving all our ambitions. As a Pakistani living abroad, it is sometimes hard to fit in and feel at home but PakSoc has provided a whiff of the rich culture and a divine sense of community that is found in the homeland. I want to be able to become a vessel through which everyone within our society can also comfortably appreciate these values and indulge in the essence of Pakistan. I am confident in my abilities to be a determined member of the committee and be the lifeline for all concerns as a general secretary. Thank you and Pakistan Zindabad!
Haroon Nasir
Assalamu alaykum PakSoc members! My name is Haroon Nasir and I am running to be your General Secretary. If elected, I hope to put on more events for everyone to enjoy and meet new people.
Amaani Nawaz
Hello everyone!! My name is Amaani, I’m a first year biological sciences student looking to run for General Secretary of the Pakistan society (: As a proud Pakistani who has lived in multiple cities inside and outside of Pakistan, I gained valuable perspectives and a drive to be engaged with my country. I am eager to couple these with the skills I acquired in various positions of responsibility to allow my passion to materialise into actions, such as:

1. Working with the team to host more collaborations with other societies inside and outside of UCL, as well as national and international bodies to enrich students’ experiences, and empower young Pakistanis,
2. Continuing and building upon pre-existing traditions using experience from hosting and running initiatives as charity officer,
3. Promoting indiscriminate inclusivity by diversifying the types of events hosted- e.g. to represent and facilitate different careers, religions, and ethnicities within the Pakistani community.

Thank you for reading this application- I hope you look upon it favourably and would be honoured and humbled to serve as your Gen Sec this year. Salams and lots of Paksoc pyaar x
Noor Fatima
I am running for this role because I would love to make Paksoc an inclusive environment where people can celebrate the beautiful culture of Pakistan together. If I was to be elected as general secretary, my main priorities would be to make sure that all members stay up to date with the fun events that we run throughout the year and to help make sure that these events run smoothly. Aswell as this, I would like to make sure that all members feel welcomed and like a part of the Paksoc family. I believe I am suitable for this role as I am reliable, keen and a great team worker! Also, I am very well organised. These qualities will help me specifically in the role of a general secretary when writing the weekly newsletter but also generally, as part of the committee. Attending the Paksoc events this year has been really enjoyable for me so I would love to get involved next year in running these initiatives! One of the most wonderful things about Pakistan is the sense of community so I hope to make sure that Paksoc is able to replicate that.
