My first priority would be to ensure that the studio is accessible and reopens as soon as possible. Training would be available for everyone who needs it (DJing and presenting), whether they are freshers or 2nd years who are yet to use the equipment. Mixlr (the broadcasting software used 'at home' by presenters this year) or a suitable alternative would be canvassed to continue to let people who cannot access the studio present, and to allow the possibility of further afield broadcasts. I am keen to engage with new students and encourage as many people to present as possible, whilst ensuring that the station is run effectively and broadcasts quality content.

The return of live music and audiences means many exciting possibilities of events run by Rare FM. I would be dedicated to working with the Events Manager to organise and host as many musical parties as possible, including the start of year launch party. This would both encourage novel participation and also make up for the drought of events over the last year.

I am a dedicated member of Rare FM and love working with the station. I am certain that the end of Corona is full of exciting possibilities and will mean a real revival in live music. I want Rare FM to play a role at the forefront of this.

I am standing for President as I would like to extend my involvement with Rare FM based on my status as a long-standing presenter and this year’s Events Manager. Despite the effects of COVID-19, I worked with this Will, year’s President, to successfully implement the following:

- Organised and DJed a sold-out event between Rare and LSE’s Pulse as part of a collaborative, COVID-secure night at Costa del Tottenham
- Hosted livestreams in Freshers Week to ensure our membership numbers would receive a new intake
- Coordinated webinars with industry figures as to share their insights to the student community
- Conducted interviews for our magazine division, Under City Lights

This has afforded me a multifaceted view of both the workings of the station and provided insight into our target audience, venue tastes and artist preferences. It has also lent me valuable experience dealing with the SU in order to host profitable events for Rare. My links as a committee member at Electronic Music Society will allow scope for collaboration in terms of events, talks, and set a precedent for more cohesion within UCL’s creatively oriented community. Moreover, my background as a London native and DJ, with experience in club and radio formats has lent me experience in liaising with organisers, finding venues and booking acts. In summary, I would like to use this set of experiences to enhance the capability and reach of Rare FM, as we look to return to some form of normality. Thank you
