Simon Rey
Dear Members,

It would be my pleasure to act as your educational officer for the upcoming year, below I have outlined my plan should I be elected:

Pre-clinical student Members:
- A mock OCAPE/workshops for 1st years.
- A mock OCAPE/workshops for 2nd years.
- A series of tutorials* that will mirror the course structure. These will be ran by members of the club (including myself).

Clinical student Members:
- A mock OSCE/workshops for 4th and 5th year students.
- Refresher Tutorials* on pre-clinical content.

*As in previous years, group chats according to year group will be created where members can voice what topics they would find most useful to be covered in the tutorials.

I look forward to the time where we can be out playing together again,
James Matti
Throughout my time at the club, I think there is much I wish I had known regarding not just the learning content for each year, but also how to structure and go about learning it. 2nd and 4th year are especially tough, and two years that I think could benefit massively from tutorial / seminar-type teaching sessions throughout the year.

Being over halfway through 4th year now, I’ve appreciated that this can be a long year and it’s a big jump from pre-clinical medicine. I think tutorials for each specialty / module would be hugely beneficial for the incoming clins, and would be a massive aid throughout the year both in terms of knowledge as well as structuring how to go about learning the content.

I have had much experience these past four years in terms of helping tutor others. I have tutored prospective medical students in interview skills, and this year have been a part of the neuroscience iBSC tutorial scheme where I have tutored three students taking the neuroscience iBSC throughout the year.

Manifesto summary:
- Set up tutorials for the pre-clins, aided by the current third years
- Run module / specialty-specific tutorials for the incoming 4th years
- Run clinical examination and OSCE tutorials for the incoming 4th years
- Run a club mockape for the second years close to exam time
- Start a buddy system for incoming freshers to be paired with second / third years in the club who they can chat to if they have any questions regarding work / learning
