What do/did you do, who do/did you volunteer for, and how frequently?
Was it through one of our newsletters, one of your friends, through your club/society, an email from your department or something else that encouraged you to find out more?
Think about what motivated you to commit to your role - why did you apply? What did you want to get out of the experience?
Consider what you have achieved through your volunteering. Who have you supported? Why did they need supporting? How have you made a difference?
Consider your wellbeing, whether it has helped you developed new skills and if it has helped your academic studies in any way.
Lots of volunteers tell us the best thing about volunteering is the positive impact they have on themselves and others. Some students focus on the skills development aspect, others the social side of volunteering. Building confidence and self esteem is another common response here. Think about what has been most important to you.
A lot of our volunteers mention time commitment, managing expectations and settling in to a new environment. Think about the most challenging part of your volunteering - and share how you've overcome it.
Please upload a photograph of yourself that we can use alongside your story.
